How should I think about the ranking and share of voice of Jobs?

Our technology provides an important metric that can help you prioritize and sort through the different jobs-to-be-done: Share of Voice (SOV). Since it is a simple apples-to-apples comparison of the share of reviews that link to each job within a context, it provides us a strong indication of the "popularity" of each job relative to the next.

This metric of course give us a really simple yet effective way to organize jobs that reach a lot of people. This is usually the starting point we recommend to most of our clients when looking at organizing the different jobs-to-be-done identified in any typical analysis. Which is also why our reports automatically sort JOBS in descending order of SOV.

There is, of course, another factor that can play a role in the ranking and ordering of jobs, which relates to operational efficiencies and criteria that might exist within a company that make it easier to resolve certain jobs quickly. The two factors when put together give companies everything they need in order to evaluate the relative value of the different jobs identified, and pin point those jobs that will add the greatest value to their business in the short and long term.
